product presentation

Main applications:
Temperature or low water level protection on large hot water tanks, electric radiators, distillation columns, heat pumps, commercial washing machines and dishwashers, air conditioning duct heaters, and railway equipment.
Thanks to their double-break contacts and wide contact gap upon opening, these limiters are also suitable for use with direct current (photovoltaic panels, DC water heaters).

Main features:

Casing dimensions: dia 53.2 × 36 mm (excluding diastat)

Capillary: 3 mm diameter in copper, 500 or 900 mm length, minimum bend radius 10 mm. Capillary lengths exceeding 900 mm are not recommended for technical reasons. Custom lengths are available upon request. A 1.8 mm diameter copper capillary tube (straight, bent, or spiral) can replace the 3 mm dia. capillary tube as an option.

Bulb: Straight copper (can be bent) for temperatures from 60 to 212°C (140 to 414°F).

Temperature measuring element: Liquid-filled diastat, which boiling triggers the snap action contact. Therefore, unlike liquid expansion systems, these thermostats are slightly sensitive to atmospheric pressure, but their response time is faster.

Terminals: Six M5 screws for fork or ring terminals. The use of 6.35 mm tabs is not compatible with an electric rating higher than 25A.

Adjustment: Fixed setting

Mounting: Via 3/8 BSPP stainless steel sealed rear thread, or via a 1 hole rear tab.

Manual reset: Fail-safe, reset via a button on the front panel.

Electrical rating in AC: Three normally open contacts, 50 A 250 V AC, 40 A 400 V AC. (200 cycles, CE only, or 6000 cycles CE, UL, CUL, depending on the contact materials).

Electrical rating in DC (resistive):
24V: ??A. 48V:??A 110V:?? 240V: ??

Maximum ambient temperature on the body: 85°C (185°F).

Maximum temperature on the capillary: prolonged exposure of more than 30 minutes must not exceed the calibration temperature by more than 30°C (54°F), or 40°C (72°F) for short-term exposure.

Minimum temperature on the capillary: -20°C (-4°F)

Acceptable pollution level at 250V and 400V: 3
